I Struggled to Find the Perfect Gifts … Until I Found Chocolates!

It was a dreary Saturday afternoon in lower Manhattan. I was cold; I was grumpy; and I was having trouble coming up with something suitable to give to our international visitors who would be joining me in the office on Monday. I was also getting hungry, but the various delis, burger joints, and other assorted restaurants just didn’t appeal to me.

Then, as if on cue, I glanced up just in time to see a man come out of a small shop and into the weekend pedestrian traffic. There was something different about him. He had a spring in his step and a smile on his face.
Out of curiosity, I walked over to the shop he had just exited. Chocolates! There, in front of me, were rows and rows of chocolate Truffles in every flavour imaginable, and I could almost hear each chocolate Truffle calling my name.

I stepped inside, and instantly my senses were soothed and caressed with the rich aromas of creamy chocolates. I smelled dark chocolates, milk chocolates, flavoured chocolates, and chocolates from all over the world.

Looking around the shop, I was delighted to find chocolate Gifts! Giddy with excitement, I knew these chocolate Gifts would be perfect for the business meeting on Monday!

Of course I had to sample a wide variety of chocolates to ensure that I purchased the perfect chocolate Gifts; and then, since I had not eaten lunch, I bought a dozen chocolate Truffles for myself.

In a state of chocolate euphoria, I thanked the store clerk profusely and stepped back out onto the sidewalk. I could not help but notice how downcast the throng of people walking along that sidewalk appeared to be; regardless, I was rejuvenated, energized, and ready to take the afternoon by storm, thanks to the chocolates!
